‘WORST MAYOR EVER’: De Blasio Defends Religious Ban, Says Protests OK Because of ‘Profound Meaning’

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.01.20

Embattled New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio defended his decision to ban religious gatherings during the Coronavirus shutdown while encouraging anti-police protesters Wednesday; saying demonstrators had “profound meaning.”

“The protests were an entirely different reality, a national phenomenon, that not something the government could just say ‘go away’… [they] obviously had profound meaning…” said De Blasio.

DE BLASIO SPIRALS: 2 NYPD Shot, 1 Stabbed, Mayor Says Protests Remind Him of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.04.20

Two members of the NYPD were shot in Brooklyn overnight Monday and another officer stabbed in the neck as protesters defied an 8pm curfew imposed by beleaguered Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“The melee unfolded when a suspect approached a cop on Church Avenue near Flatbush Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. and stabbed him in the neck, a police source said,” reports the New York Post.

Meanwhile, the mayor faced a growing backlash after saying the violent situation reminded him of John Lennon’s utopian anthem ‘Imagine.’

“I don’t mean to make light of this. But I’m reminded of the song ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon. We played it at my inauguration! What about a world where people got along differently? What about a world where we didn’t live with a lot of the restrictions that we live with now,” said De Blasio. “We’re not there yet. The protest movement themselves is how we make progress!”

DE BLASIO SPIRALS: Mayor Says ‘Inappropriate’ for Kids to Use the Playgrounds, ‘Undermines’ Virus Fight

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.16.20

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio continued to spiral out of control Tuesday; telling reporters that it’s “inappropriate” for children to use the playgrounds because it “undermines” the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re not going to allow people to take the laws into their own hands. People are not allowed to open up a playground that’s not available to the public,” said de Blasio. “Until the order is given that playgrounds are open, people need to stay off the playgrounds, it’s not appropriate to take their own action.”

“I understand people’s frustrations, but if folks act prematurely, then that’s the kind of thing that will undermine our ability to get to Phase II,” he added. “There’s a reason for these rules.”
